On the Hunt for Fall Foliage: New England Edition

Unfortunately, Renogy has never been had the pleasure of
experiencing a fall season. Louisiana stays warm throughout the autumn months
and sunny SoCal stays warm and dry year round. We can’t complain much about the
winter weather, but can’t we all enjoy the fall colors? If you’re planning on
taking the RV out for one last joyride before the long winter, you may want to
visit one of the beautiful autumn towns listed below. After all, this season
seems so fleeting and we’ve got sweaters to try on and pumpkins to carve.

Salem, MA

It may come as no surprise, but New England towns are
beautiful when the leaves start to fall. Filled with history, charm, and fun
fall festivals, these places are perfect for an autumn getaway. Salem is
located near the coast of Massachusetts, about 40 minutes outside of Boston. If
you find yourself visiting in October, you’ll be one of 250,000 others that
enjoy the “Haunted Happenings.” The Haunted Happenings is a lively celebration
of fall and Halloween. Events include ghost tours, costume balls, haunted
houses, and more. There are many quaint little inns located in this city, but
be sure to book early or you may be out of luck! If you are planning on staying
in your RV, nearby parks include the Winter Island and Beach Rose RV Parks.

Portland, ME

Another seaside New
England town, Portland, Maine is a great place to watch the leaves dance. Since
you’re seaside, you can visit the local lighthouse or stop by the Old Port for
great wining, dining, and shopping. If you enjoy art, the local Portland Museum
of Art may be the first on your to-do list. If you’d really like to get up
close and personal with the foliage, take a hike up Bradbury Mountain, located
just outside of town. No matter what you’re looking for, there’s something to
do as this is a fairly large metropolitan area. Local RV parks include the Wild
Duck and Powder Horn Family Camping Park.

Burlington, VT

Burlington is the perfect destination for those who enjoy
outdoor fun. Packed with over 30 miles of trails, there’s no shortage of walking
and exercise areas. If you prefer to walk or jog against a waterfront
background, then head over to Waterfront Park and admire the sights of Lake
Champlain. If you have your kids with you, tell them to be on the lookout for
“Champ,” the famous and even more mysterious sea monster. Burlington is home to
many boutique restaurants and mom and pop bars. Wine tastings and beer tours
are also quite popular. If you elect to stay in your RV, North Beach Campground
and Lone Pine Campsites are nearby. Just remember, if you do plan to be
outdoors, pack warmer clothing as temps can get quite chilly.
